Asian creativity has significantly enhanced the aesthetic experience of fashion, music, performing, and visual arts. The few documentaries on Asian influence feature only established artists in the entertainment industry. This new short documentary uniquely highlights select up-and-coming Asian creatives who have the potential to make a name for themselves. For most Asians, choosing a career outside healthcare, engineering/IT, or business was frowned upon. To choose a “hobby” or “art” to make a living was laughable and often subjected to ridicule. This documentary explores 11 creative talent’s inspirations and adversity and their journey toward success. This documentary hopes to empower Asians and Asian Americans to trust themselves to do what they want. Not their family. Not their social circle. And not society. But to follow their dream and be able to shout out loud, “I DO WHAT I WANT!”
