History deserves to be told and presented. We need to reexamine what happened in the past to prevent repeating all the mistakes we made before.
There aren’t many films covering the LA riots in 1992 and even fewer films that tell stories during that time from the Korean people’s perspective. As a critical community that passively got involved in this event, Korean’s perspective can offer the audience a different angle to perceive what happened in the past and reflect the country’s social and political realities.
In the meantime, the whole film is a reminder to those who don’t know about the 1992 LA riots and a comment on George Floyd event that happened in 2020. It’s been almost 30 years since what happened in 1992. Are we making any difference? When will the division end?
