In March of 2020 the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center (TCCC) closed its doors, suspending its oldest legacy program: the Chinese Lion Dance. A year later, the cultural center picks up the pieces in the aftermath of COVID, bringing back the Lion Dance Program to unpracticed teachers and students. Filmed over the course of a year and a half, Young Lion follows the hard build back to community. Elders pass on the torch and young students step up to pave the future of the Lion Dance Program.
