SYNOPSIS

In the Korean forest, lives a Goddess who seeks justice from evil. Legend says this Goddess, Kumiho, must kill all who see her–except the One who keeps her secret for a thousand years. Then, she will become human, and together they will live forever…

This is the story of the man who kept her secret…

Early morning, in a quiet village a thousand years ago; a child is killed, her liver torn from her belly. Hwang, a warrior, chases the Murderer high into the mountains. A great battle ensues. Swords spawn lighting, lethal blows resound in thunder.

Evil wins this epic struggle until Kumiho, an ancient and beautiful Korean legend comes to life. Time stops. She reverses fortune. The killer is vanquished. His liver devoured by the hands and teeth of eternal justice. A murderer’s dying scream echoes through heaven and hell, time and space…

…To modern day Los Angeles.

Former cop and schizophrenic Private Eye, BLAKE NOVACK, wakes from a bad dream and finds himself thrust into murder investigations that are eerily similar to cases he worked years ago. In fact, each new victim was the prime suspect for the six murders Blake never solved.

The LAPD’s prime suspect–their only suspect–is Blake, who gets a break when he investigates a mysterious escape from a mental hospital. The inmate–a strange and beautiful women with raven-black hair, rose-petal skin and a body wrought in heaven–has eyes that terrify, mesmerize, and rule the minds of men.

What is her connection to Blake and the unsolved murders that haunt him? With the help of the enigmatic Dr. Paul, Blake learns he has a spiritual and physical connection to the beautiful Kumiho and that she is carrying out her own form of vigilante justice in the City of Angels.

Dr. Paul trains Blake to confront Kumiho and bring her to justice.

…But, does he want to?

Blake believes he himself could be the killer. Can a depressed and lonely man, a common man; a man haunted by the past and uncertain of his future, betray the only love he has ever known; that has ever really known him? Or will this most private of eyes confront his own demons and surrender his heart to destiny, and his soul to eternity.

In a frightening climax, Blake re-examines the one case that has obsessed his mind, the case that drove him from the force–and to the edges of reality. He learns that the condemned suspect in a series of brutal murders is innocent and must be saved before Kumiho metes out her justice.

At the end Blake, like the hunter Hwang a thousand years ago, finds himself on the edge of Destiny.

This time he is on his own.
