Born in 1994 in Taiwan, Yu Chu Chang started her film career as a writer/director. She moved to the US in 2017 for graduate school in San Diego. Her own culture background and the impacts from the brand new environment become her inspirations and influence her film works later on.

Director Statement

I have different perspectives in lots of things since I grew up in a totally different culture and society background. This kind of experience actually give me the chance to think more about who I am, where I came from, what kind of stories I want to tell. I am fascinated by the interactions between person and person, people and people, people and society, even people and nature. I think human beings are the most complicated but the most interesting creature in the world, and I expect myself to observe and embrace the delicate relationships originate from them.
