On Saturday, November 7th, 2020, the official judges were announced for next year’s 2021 Asian Film Festival.  Among the announced judges was the daughter of Dr. Rev. Amy McMillan, Hollywood actress, and producer, Amber Martinez.  Before starting her television and film career, Amber Martinez helped her church and mother, in youth ministry and children’s bible outreach and studies.  Amber Martinez’s first television appearance was in 1998 on TPS Television, in Michigan, where she remained TV hosting there until 2002.  She then continued working as a TV host and modeli and moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2008.  Amber Martinez has worked on many films and television projects.  Some of her well-known film projects are Rock your Shakespeare, Madness in the Method, Back to Lyla, and Senior Entourage.  

In the film Senior Entourage, Amber Martinez had the pleasure of working with an amazing all-star cast, including Ed Asner, Marion Ross, Mark Rydell, Charles Robinson, James Handy, David Lockhart, Brian Conners, and the late Helen Reddy.  Some television projects, that Ms. Martinez has worked on include L.A.’s Finest, NCIS, The Goldbergs, S.W.A.T., Homeland, Atypical, and Seal Team.  In addition to her many film and television accomplishments, Amber was also the country title holder of “Ms. North America United Nations 2015/2016” and international winning beauty titleholder of “Ms. United Nations Globe 2016”.  She attributes her winning of these beauty pageant titles, to God, hard work, and universal blessings.

Presenting this honor on Nov. 7th, 2020, was the festival director, Jason Quin.  The event took place at the newly finished luxury hotel The Maybourne Beverly Hills, located in Beverly Hills, CA.  The event was officially photographed by Guillermo Proano.  Also, in attendance at the announcement were actress Rebecca Holden, TV host Shelley Sykes, philanthropist Leith Eaton, international recording artist Josh Moreland, and former Hollywood Foreign Press Association President, Aida Takla.  When asked about receiving the honor of being a judge for the 2021 Asian Film Festival, Ms. Martinez replied, “It is truly an honor and I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity.  I will do my absolute best, at judging these films.  I look forward to all the creativity and uniqueness of every one of them.”
