安亦杰， Yijie Yan is a director and cinematographer, MFA of Film and Television, in Savannah College of Art and Design. He has a delicate and unique style of storytelling and visualization which is inspired by traditional Chinese culture and aesthetics.

Director Statement

In this movie Reading, I would like to convey the aesthetics of ancient Chinese poems in a visual way and also shows the charm of translation. “Translation” is a fantastic method to connect different cultures, especially when it happens in poems. The movie is organized and led by the translation version of the poem “Jiangchengzi”. The visual style demonstrates the romance of the Chinese poem and its sad core.
